It has been established under the MFSA Act 2022 to serve primarily as an advisory body, assessing and proposing food regulatory measures for adoption, as well as, cooperating with other organisations having similar objectives. It  also provides advice, technical support and recommendations to the Minister on various aspects related to food safety and nutrition.
