The Mauritius Food Standards Agency (MFSA) is a corporate body under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Wellness. It has been established under the MFSA Act 2022 to serve primarily as an advisory body, assessing and proposing food regulatory measures for adoption, as well as, cooperating with other organisations having similar objectives. It also provides advice, technical support and recommendations to the Minister on various aspects related to food safety and nutrition. Since April 2023, the Board is meeting regularly to administer the Agency and set up committees to develop regulatory measures.
