A half-day workshop was organised by the University of Mauritius in collaboration with Rutgers University, USA, and the Mauritius Food Standards Agency on May 7th, 2024, on the topic of Food Safety in the World of Trade. The OIC of the MFSA, Mr. Yousouf Gaungoo, gave a presentation on how the Food Act 2022, Mauritius Food Standards Agency Act 2022, and forthcoming Food Regulations 2024 would strike a balance between food safety and trade. This half-day workshop was marked by the presence of students at the university, academics, industry professionals, representatives of government organisations, and consumer organisations, among others.
